Sarang Shah is Vice President of Finance and Head of Operations at Riot Ventures, where he oversees all financial strategy, fund operations, and back-office infrastructure across the firm’s funds and co-investment vehicles. Sarang leads LP reporting, compliance, and fund administration—ensuring Riot scales with institutional discipline while staying nimble. Prior to joining Riot, he was Controller at CFT Capital Partners, a $2B+ private equity firm, and held earlier roles at ICONIQ Capital and Blackstone, where he gained experience across fund operations, investor services, and institutional asset management.
Sarang holds both a Master’s in Accounting and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at UNC, he was a practice player for the women’s soccer team and earned a national championship ring—proudly contributing to one of the most successful programs in NCAA history. A lifelong athlete, Sarang plays basketball regularly and brings the same court awareness and hustle to venture operations. Off the court, he’s a fan of improv—on stage and in life—and believes every good ops leader should know how to pivot with confidence and deliver under pressure.
